Story

This June, I’m taking on Tommy’s 60 Miles in June challenge, walking 60 miles throughout the month to raise money for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

In 2024, I suffered a miscarriage. It was one of the hardest things James and I had ever gone through, and something that so many families sadly experience quietly and behind closed doors. During that time, consultants told us that because of our fertility struggles, we could potentially face more losses in the future, which was devastating to hear at the time. We feel unbelievably fortunate that we were able to access IVF treatment, which eventually helped us welcome our beautiful baby girl, Margot, who was born in March this year.

I know not everyone is able to access treatment quickly, or get the answers and support they need when they need it most, which is one of the reasons I wanted to support Tommy’s.

Tommy’s is the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby charity, funding vital research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, while also campaigning for better care for women and families. One part of their work that feels especially important to me is their campaign against the current “3 miscarriage rule”, where many women are expected to endure three consecutive losses before receiving specialist investigations or support. Tommy’s is fighting to change this so families can access care, answers and support much sooner.

As someone who is still very newly postpartum and recovering from a C-section, this challenge will definitely push me both physically and mentally. But after everything we’ve been through, it feels important to do something positive with our experience, give back to a charity doing incredible work, and hopefully help support other women and families going through similar heartbreak.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, I would be so grateful. And if not, sharing this page or cheering me on along the way would honestly mean just as much.

Thank you so much for your support 🤍
