Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Jessie and I will be climbling Machu Picchu in September to raise funds for Headstrong. We both have first hand experience to know that Headstrong has had a major impact on the health and welfare of children with brain tumours in the UK.

Brain tumours are the most common form of solid tissue in young children. Each year 350 children are newly diagnosed with a brain tumour and approximately 2,500 in the 7 - 12 age group are living with one. Research has shown that children urgently need information and support to help them understand and cope with their condition.

HEADSTRONG consists of two booklets (one aimed at 7-9 year olds; and the other at 10 -12 years olds), a CD-ROM and a specifically designed website. These will help children by improving their understanding of having a brain tumour their by reducing their anxiety. It will also promote involvement in decision-making and the management of their condition. www.headstrongkids.org.uk

Please give what you can! We are doing the Hydro Active Challenge for Women in Hyde Park on Sunday 4th September. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brain and Spine Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
