At the beginning of June I joined Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year, with my daughters Charlotte and Lizzy and Charlottes friend Jenny. We all ran the Pretty Muddy 5k assault course!

I had only recently started running and this was my first goal after completing an accelerated couch to 5k plan. I was very proud to complete this race for life on that cold and wet June morning. Thank you all those people who sponsored me and our team. You all know who you are.

In order to keep my interest in running and for my next challenge I signed up for the 10k race in Cambridge which will take place this Sunday 19th July. 

Quite a jump!  But I did mange to run the distance on Monday so fingers crossed for Sunday. My training had been hampered a little bit by a virus and the recent hot spell. But at least I am back on form!

Where do I go from here? Well I have just signed Lizzy and myself up for a second Pretty Muddy in Norwich at the start of our holiday on 27th July. I cannot persuade her to run a race unless their are muddy obstacles involved!
