Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I first ran 10k in the Tel-Aviv marathon to raise money for the Bereaved Families Forum in 2012 and ran again in the Tel-Aviv Night Run in October 2015 to raise money in my daughter Rikki's (ז''ל )memory. Through everyone's generosity I raised over £13,000.
The Bereaved Families Forum is a grass roots organisation of over 600 Israeli and Palestinian families who are bereaved due to the conflict and work towards better relations with our neighbours and a better future for all our children. They seek a different way forward: peace and reconciliation and not revenge.
They are a minority, a very brave minority, and I think it important to support they who are often at loggerheads within their own
societies, but feel and work passionately for a different future for the region.
Many Israelis have never met a Palestinian - they see each Palestinian as a suicide bomber - and many Palestinians have never met an Israeli- except through the army and the checkpoints - we aim to change perceptions and have many projects including summer camps for Israeli and Palestinian teenagers and workshops where both Israelis and Palestinians meet each other in a safe and positive space.
