In 2007 Sir Christopher Ball suggested that the Windermere Marathon incorporated a 10 marathons in 10 days event. 12 years later it's one of the "UK's toughest running events".

Story

So what is the Brathay 10 in 10?? It's madness: a physical and mental challenge to run 10 marathons in 10 days, 1 lap of Lake Windemere every single day! That's a total of 262 miles from 23rd October-1st November 2020.

WHY am I doing this??!!!

I am lucky in that I had a very happy and secure childhood, and now have 2 children who are growing up in a similar situation. However I know there are many children who are not so lucky, and this is why I have chosen to do this challenge and try and raise as much as I can for this amazing charity.

The Brathay Trust supports children and young people to fulfill their potential, improve their well-being and make positive choices that benefit them, and the people around them.

Brathay work with young people from across the UK at residential centres in the Lake District and in their own communities. They inspire thousands of young people every year to make positive changes that last a lifetime.

We work with a wide range of young people, often with fewer opportunities in life, including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of exploitation in unhealthy relationships, needing confidence to find work or training, or facing other challenges in their lives.
