Guildford Samaritans - 24/7 Challenge · 25 July 2009 ·

We are one of the oldest Samaritans branches in the country; we took our first call in 1963 and have been providing emotional support to people in Guildford, Woking and Waverley, and across the country ever since. Call us for free on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org.

Story

On the weekend of 25th and 26th July our team will take part in the Guildford Samaritans 24/7 Challenge

We will attempt to walk 50 miles in 24 hours and at least 3 of us must be walking at any one time.  The walk will take us from Winchester to Guildford along the St Swithun’s Way and the North Downs Way and follows the route of the ancient Pilgrim’s Way. We are raising money for Guildford Samaritans who provide support for the depressed, lonely or suicidal within the local community.  This support is provided by trained volunteers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Each year Guildford Samaritans needs to raise £50,000 through fundraising activities to support the provision of this service.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Samaritans of Guildford gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid is added to your donation.

If you feel you are able to spare a bob or two, please sponsor us here.

Many thanks
