Ride the Night 2017 · 27 May 2017 ·
For the second year running, I'm back for more!!!
Over the next few months I'll be training very hard for the big day, or rather night, of Saturday 27th May. From 9pm, in another record breaking group of 4399 ladies, we'll be starting our 100km ride (just over 60 miles in old money) from Royal Windsor Racecourse, cycling through London to the halfway point by Buckingham Palace and back again! (See our full route here: http://www.ridethenight.co.uk/the_route.php).
This is all to raise money for 3 amazing charities close my heart, as detailed below. Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action all do brilliant work supporting women with cancer as well as their families and fighting to find cures for future generations through scientific research and by building public awareness.
Last year we had so much tremendous support as a group of just over 3000 ladies you helped us raise over £1m! This year we're back with a vengeance, there's almost half as many of us again and we've gone big with our ambitions - we want to raise £2m to help even more people this time around.
Look out for flashing bikes, tutus, bras, knitted boobs and most importantly the ladies accompanying them, we'll start hitting London around pub-kicking-out-time, we're a rowdy bunch so anyone popping outside to cheer us on will be repaid with an even bigger cheer in return!
We can't wait to get on our bikes again for such a great cause and really appreciate your support in our fundraising efforts!
With lots of love,
Rachel
PS I'll be tying to share tweets during training and on the night itself, you can find me under @RachelRileyRR. Any messages of support for me and the girls are much appreciated.
