Mendip Challenge 2021 · 6 June 2021 ·

Weston Hospicecare provides expert end-of-life care, free of charge, to people with life-limiting illnesses. Our goal is people can live as well as they can, for as long as they can; we help them feel like family and friends again, not just patients and carers.

Story

Once again I'm setting myself a challenge to walk 20 miles of the West Mendip Way to raise money for Weston Hospicecare. My team mates have decided to take on the 30 miles so I will be joining them at some point to walk together and do our bit for the hospice.

Receiving an end-of-life diagnosis can be difficult, not just for the patient but also for their loved ones. At Weston Hospicecare, our team of palliative care experts is dedicated to working together to provide specialist support. Our social, emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical care helps guide people through one of the most difficult experiences they will ever face. With only 20% of our funding coming from the NHS, we have to raise £4 million each year to fund our care - something that's only made possible by our community.
