Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Hi, welcome to my fundraising page!

I am David and this August I am attempting to swim a gruelling non-stop swim around the Isle of Wight. Only 5 people in history have completed this challenge and it will be the culmination of years of dedication and training from myself.

Please give generously if you can!

So, what is driving me to do this mad challenge? As many of you will know I am a Defence Neurosurgical Consultant AND a consultant at RNOH in Stanmore and have witnessed how the developments in research have helped us to better address the many issues caused by spinal cord injury.

By sponsoring me you will be helping Spinal Research transform lives through research.

Their most recent projects include clinical studies for restoration of hand and arm function, bladder and bowel function and the reduction of debilitating nerve pain. We know that improvements in these functions will have an enormous impact on the independence and overall quality of life for people living with paralysis. All of their vital research is funded by donations, from people like you.

So please dig deep and give as generously as you can. Every donation will help push me to complete this immense challenge.

David
