Story

We provide imaging for the children seen in Bradford at BRI and St Luke's hospitals. The majority of children who visit hospital require imaging as part of their care and we perform more than 20,000 imaging investigations every year.

The imaging we do ranges from x-rays in the Accident and Emergency Department, to ultrasound scans , and more complex studies with CT, MRI and isotope studies.

We are aiming to improve the facilities for children and young people in all our departments. We would like to improve the waiting room facilities in radiology at BRI and SLH, provide distraction toys and activites for children undergoing scans and to furnish a quiet room where children can rest.

A team of individuals from the department including consultants, nurses, radiographers and assistants have entered the Dragon boat race in Bradford on 23rd June 2019 to raise funds for this work. Please support our efforts and help us to improve our facilities for children and young people.
