Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

The Radiology departments at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary are coming together to raise funds for Marie Curie. A fantastic charity and hospice caring for palliative patients and offering support to their families. They rely solely on charitable funding and don't have financial support from the government. With most fundraising events cancelled due to COVID-19 Marie Curie has seen a drastic drop in funding and the future is uncertain for the hospice, its staff and all the patients and families they care for.

As a radiology team we are aiming to walk/run/cycle the length of the UK (874 miles) within a one month period. Obviously we're a bit preoccupied with work so won't be able to physically walk John o' Groats to Land's end. But will be tracking our distances covered with Strava and adding all the data up.

All donations no matter how small are greatly appreciated!
