Radshape Three Peaks Challenge for Leukaemia · 28 April 2009

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

The Challenge
Simply put the challenge is to scale the three highest mountains in the British Isles. Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales. The not so simple bit is to do this in 24 hours! Yes 24 hours!!

Many have tried and conquered and many have tried and failed. We aim to do this within the 24 hours and raise as much as possible for Leukaemia along the way.

You can follow all our progress on our home page here .

Why we're doing it
Recently a colleague and friend of ours was diagnosed with acute Leukaemia. It is not until a person you know becomes affected by an illness that you suddenly become aware of the battle the individual faces, both mentally and physically, and the fantastic work organisations do to help fight the illnesses that otherwise go unoticed if you don’t know anyone struck down by the disease.

Amazingly Leukaemia Research receives no government funding and relies solely on donations and fund raising activities and this is where we at Radshape want to help. There are of course a number of organised events throughout the year but we also wanted to do something more personal for our friend.

About the Team
The challenge team of 12 from Radshape are of varying ages and fitness levels.  Participants come from all areas of the company and include apprentices, shop  floor personnel and management. There is of course an extended support team for help with driving, preparation and food duties once more coming from all areas of  the company.

Whilst there is a personal note to the challenge and a serious cause there is  already a buzz about the company with the  emphasis on ‘Team’ relationships and bonding, something else we are specialists in!

There is alot of work to do, not only in fitness levels for the challenge, but with the preparation.

We sincerely hope you can support us however possible and help raise as much
as possible for this worthy cause and will keep you all updated with our progress as we go on.

So please sponsor us now!
