London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

We tackle racial inequality in public services by: - Exploring what is known about discrimination and disadvantage - Developing evidence-based better practice like our SFSC parenting programme - Working with national and local partners to tackle inequality and disadvantage.

Story

I decided to enter the ballot for a free place to run the London Marathon after watching the event live in April 2019. I was lucky enough to win a place to run in 2020 and then a few months later covid-19 struck. Life as we knew it changed and we all know what happened after that. Fast forward to today and this weekend I will finally run the London Marathon!

I came across the Race Equality Foundation as a parent completing their Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities   (SFSC) programme - this is a parenting course designed to support you to raise happy and successful children. You can find out more about the course here: https://raceequalityfoundation.org.uk/children-and-families/sfsc/sfsc-for-parents/

In November 2021, I joined their Policy and Practice Team as a Research Administrator. It was a 5 month contract but this experience changed my life forever and opened a whole new world of opportunities to me. I really value the work the Race Equality Foundation does and believe as many people as possible should be able to experience their input and support if they need it. As well as delivering services to support families, the Race Equality Foundation also tackles racial inequality across public services through its policy and research work.

I want to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. Please donate to the Race Equality Charity and support their vital work.
