Cycling 1000 miles- Land's End to John O' Groats · 23 August 2015

Our mission is to never let religion, any religion, come in the way of the unconditional love between parents & their children. We are working to end homophobia triggered by religion which is claiming the lives and happiness of tens of thousands of LGBTQI+ individuals across the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As anyone who knows me will know I have been unfit and struggled with my weight most my life.  Anyhow, I'm hoping to break through that this year and have set myself the biggest challenge I've ever done - to cycle from Land's End to John O' Groats - the length of Britain - 1,000 miles in 14 days, working out 70 miles a day.

Until this year the furthest I'd ever cycled in one day was 50 miles, to this is crazy!

The Naz and Matt Foundation was set up by Matt, whose partner Naz committed suicide last year.  He was a GP who trained at my Medical School in Birmingham.  He met Matt at this time, and they moved to London.  After 8 years of their relationship Naz told his mother about Matt.  A few days later, Naz jumped from his building.  Matt was told the funeral time but arrived to find his partner had been buried hours before.

The Foundation tackles homophobia triggered by religion to help parents accept their children.  I was fortunate to have a wonderful family.  Please help others be as fortunate!
