Story
For Home Start North East Aberdeenshire, fundraising is crucial in allowing them to support local families through visits by volunteers and support with food, clothing, heating costs. They have supported 39 families across the local area in 2020, however many of their usual routes for fundraising have been unavailable. This means new and unusual methods of fundraising are needed in order to make sure they can continue to support local families throughout 2021!
In order to support Home Start North East Aberdeenshire, the Chair of AUSA Raising and Giving, Alanna Buchan, will be undertaking a running challenge with a difference. The goal is to run a total of 68.2km in January (the equivalent of 2.2 a day in the month of her 22nd birthday)... all dressed as an old lady! Throughout the challenge, there will be updates on Alanna's progress, as well as pictures and videos, including some special updates from the Granny character! If you're around Peterhead, there's also the chance you'll see someone in some rather unusual running attire.
Please start 2021 off by donating to support this fantastic local charity. Every penny raised will help them continue to support local families after a really difficult year!
