Rahat Akhtar is raising money for Imran Khan Cancer Appeal
Story
Salaam, Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My name is Rahat and I will be taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge and I look forward to your support.
The challenge entails three separate hikes to all 3 peaks:
07.05.23 - Scafell Pike Challenge
20.05.23 - Mount Snowdon Challenge
10.06.23 - Ben Nevis Challenge
This year I have decided to participate in the National 3 Peaks challenge and to fundraise for an amazing cause. The reason I chose this charity is because cancer is a disease that has touched my loved ones and I have heard and seen the excellent care and treatment they have received. We are fortunate to have this care and treatment but in Pakistan many are not so fortunate and cannot afford treatment.
Imran Khan Cancer Appeal raises funds for the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital founded by Imran Khan. The National Health Service does not provide cancer treatment in Pakistan and as a result poor people die without proper diagnosis/treatment.
In 1994 a $24 million state of the art cancer hospital was opened in Lahore, Pakistan. Prior to the establishment of the hospital in 1994, no comprehensive facility dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer existed in that part of the world.
At Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, cancer patients are treated FREE of charge. So far, the hospital has helped 152,600 people with cancer who would otherwise had nowhere to turn to.
