Global One 2015

We deliver sustainable development projects to create a fairer world for all humanity

Charity Registration No. 1158310

Story

We are fundraising via a UK based charity called Global One, who believe in empowering the people to become change-makers of today by protecting, nurturing, and investing.

In the first month after the beginning of the hostilities, almost 500,000 Rohingya refugees have been forced to flee Myanmar due to conflict and burning of villages. No other choice remained but to flee to neighbouring Bangladesh. Without basic everyday essentials, the Rohingya are living in squalor without food, shelter or even vital medical attention.

There are now over 800,000 refugees needing attention.

Earlier in the year, Global One began distribution of emergency relief supplies, including food packages and non-food items, to 20,000 people in Letha makeshift settlement in Teknaf and Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Global One were also involved in supplying medical intervention, which included basic healthcare to families and communities.
Through this distribution, they were able to better understand the basic needs of the Rohingyas and create strong partnerships to continue implementing projects successfully, God willing.

Food items: rice (15kg), flour (3kg), lentil (2kg), cooking oil (2l), sugar(2kg), salt(2kg), powder milk
Cooking utensils: pots, pans, lids, glasses, spoons
Emergency medicines, water purification tablets, doctor and nurses fees, hygiene packs

The initial cost has been driven down due to economies of scale, so £100 per family now includes admin costs such as packaging and delivery.
