I  NEED YOU!!

In June 2010 myself and 7 friends are taking on the UK 3 peaks challenge for Cancer Research UK. 

I hear you all asking but why??

A close friend was diagnosed with testicular cancer last year. Seeing his enourmous determination and positive attitude as well as the wonderful way he was treated under the NHS inspired the hearts of all around him. When we asked him what we could do to help he said,

"I want to bhangra on a mountain, not just 1 mountain, not just 2 mountains, but 3! "

So here we are on this epic journey

The Plan: Climb the UK's 3 highest peaks (Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Snowdon) in 24 hours. Thats over 24 miles / 3000 meters of vertical climbing in 24 hours.

Training

Nov 2009: We took on Englands Highest Peak. Conditions Torrential rain and flooding. - see photos on he website

March 2010: We took on Snowdon - Wales' highest peak. After half hour we were knee deep in snow and admiring an iced over lake

April 2010: regular trekking in the Malvern Hills west midlands - to continue to increase our endurance fitness

Ongoing: Swimming 20 lengths x 3 per week - increasing fitness

May 2010: Snowdon - on a perfect summers day. We made it to the top within our planned time!

The Moral

Every one of us have had a friends or family member who have suffered from cancer. Donating to research allows further development in treatments and more people can be cured like our inspiring friend.
