Muddy Hell

Tough Mudder and Hell Up North - A BIG mistake · 3 August 2017
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you are already aware, I'm attempting a couple of big events over the next few months and for anyone who knows my fondness of food and beer, this may be a struggle. The two events I have been fooled into trying are:
- Tough Mudder South-West (on August 19th!) - a 10 mile off-road run featuring 20+ obstacles and a ton of mud "designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit" - of which I have none. Check it our here: https://toughmudder.co.uk/obstacles
- And, if I survive that, the even more intimidating Hell Up North - dubbed "The Toughest Half-Marathon in the UK" on Saturday 14th October. Worryingly little information is available about what might be involved - but there is a rather ominously named Bog of Doom obstacle and this rather terrifying poster: http://hellrunner.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/hell-poster_2016.pdf
Whilst I struggle to complete these two events and end up being dragged through the mud by my superior team-mates, I have decided to try and raise money for Parkinson's UK and their ongoing research into a cure for such a debilitating condition. I have witnessed first-hand the impact Parkinson's can have on someone's life in such a short space of time: forcing a loss of income, higher health costs, reduced mobility and most significantly a decline in quality of life that no individual should face alone. Parkinson's UK exists to support people throughout their progression with the condition and ultimately want to deliver a cure - a cause I hope to support.
