Story

The annual Raise for Life cricket tournament is taking place on Tuesday 27th December 2016 from 9.00am at Edgbaston Indoor Cricket Centre, Birmingham. 8 Teams will be playing non-stop cricket throughout the day and helping to raise vital funds to feed the homeless on the streets of Birmingham.

As Suffa Trust started feeding the homeless in Birmingham 2011, initially, volunteers would walk the streets with tea/coffee and biscuits and this soon expanded to feeding 100 people every Wednesdays. The project of feeding has now expanded over cities nationwide, Birmingham, Bolton, Sheffield, Walsall, Liverpool, Leicester and Coventry

Living in the UK many of us are blessed with enormous bounties of health and wealth, we usually don't even think about our next breakfast, lunch or dinner because automatically we know when its time to eat, we can eat and drink.  This luxury is not available to the many thousands of people on our streets of Birmingham and ultimately, it is our responsibility as humans to help feed a fellow human, without looking at what colour, race, creed or religion he/she is from.

The feeding in Birmingham now takes places every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday between 7.30pm and 8.30pm at The Arch, Lionel Street, B3 1AQ, for more details about visiting a session please contact  Yassar Taj on 07506 248534.
