In Nepal, there are approximately 900000 underprivileged and unreached children that do not have access to education. The unprecedented economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, together with school closures and insufficient government assistance, is pushing children into exploitative and dangerous child labor. One in every three children aged 5-17 years are engaged in labour, and almost all of them are working under hazardous conditions and that have shown serious signs of malnourishment in them. One out of every 11 children dies before reaching the age of five , and almost 70,000 children die yearly from preventable causes in Nepal.

I, Rajeev Khatiwada Sharma, am fundraising for Global Action Nepal by participating in TCS London Marathon on April 23, 2023. I hail from Nepal and have seen first hand how limited the access to education and healthcare is for these underprivileged children in Nepal, and this has encouraged me to raise funds for this charity which has been working vigorously since 1996 to help disadvantaged children get education and healthcare.
