Tibet: Cycling Everest Base Camp - Friendship Highway · 3 September 2018

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

My wife has graciously granted me another 'out of the box' break which will take me to Tibet where I intend to cycle 220 mls from Everest Base Camp via the Friendship Highway to Shigatse, taking in two 5200 m passes. I will be on my own but accompanied by a back-up vehicle (it is compulsory to have a guide during your stay in Tibet) with the driver having an oxygen bottle at hand, just in case ;).

And as with my last few 'adventures' I thought this being a great opportunity to support the brilliant work of the Sunderland NSPCC whose ambitious board is chaired by my good friend Umesh Patel (who kindly supported me with highly recommended medication like Diamox tablets against altitude sickness).

All donations will go direct to the NSPCC for the benefit of the Sunderland group only. And you can be assured of that none of the monies will be used to cover any of my expenses.
