On the eve of Ramadan (21st May– 27th May 2016) Wajid and I will be insh’Allah travelling with the SKT Welfare Team to distribute Ramadan Food Packs to externally displaced Syrian families in the Turkish/Syrian border town of Reyhanli & surrounding areas.

This is our 3rd visit to the region for the 3rd consecutive year, We can tell you the situation has not changed, many families are living in partially built homes with no windows or doors, some are living in tents & are in need of food & water – commodities we take for granted. We heard of 1st hand accounts of mothers mixing water with sugar for their babies because they couldn’t afford baby milk! Large families rationing the little food they had so that it lasts them or a month!

Just as many of us will be fasting in Ramadan, so will they. The only difference is that we will be doing Ramadan in our homes with our loved ones and in the presence of an abundance of food. They however will be struggling to afford basic items such as dates and water.

YOU can make this Ramadan easier on them. 1 food parcel costs £50 (really it is 2 food parcels each weighing 20kg each) which will provide enough food for a family of 6 people for the duration of Ramadan. We will personally deliver your food parcels to the most needy.

Hundreds of thousands of Syrians are suffering and in desperate need of assistance. In Reyhanli alone it is estimated there are almost 80,000 externally displaced Syrian refugees. No amount is too small or too big – it all adds up.

Syria's crisis is the biggest humanitarian emergency in our era. More than 2 million Syrian refugees have fled to Turkey for safety and now are struggling to survive on their own. They need our help
