It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said "Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) said "Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you."" [Bukhari and Muslim]
Allah Himself has promised to spend on us, if we spend for His sake. We hope that inshaAllah we can reach our aims that can only be fulfilled with your help. May Allah reward you abundantly for your partaking in this charity and may you continue to give in the path of Allah. Aameen.
Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه) reported "The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) was the most generous of the people and he was even more generous during the month of Ramadan." [Bukhari and Muslim]
With this month approaching us around the corner, we have the perfect opportunity for Muslim Twitter to muster and unite in order to give help to those in need. Often we forget, surrounded by the comforts of the wealth in our banks and the health we have been blessed with, about the rest of the world that is suffering just because they are Muslim. Ramadan is about making your imaan stronger, to create a bond with not only Allah but with fellow Muslims by doing whatever we can.
`Adi bin Hatim (رضي الله عنه) reported: Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said "Protect yourself from Hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity." [Bukhari and Muslim]
By any means do not consider giving charity as a loss of one’s wealth; it was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said "The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said "Whoever gives charity equal to a date from good (halal) earnings - for Allah does not accept anything but that which is good - Allah will take it in His right hand and tend it for the one who gave it as any one of you tends his foal, until it becomes like a mountain." [Bukhari and Muslim]
Many of you may be aware of the situation in Yemen, where our Muslim brothers and sisters are caught in the midst of a political battle. Thousands are homeless and struggling for food, shelter and the basic human necessities. Not only do we plan to raise money for Yemen, inshaAllah, but Ummah Welfare Trust has intended, with the guidance of Allah, to open the Ummah Girls Academy in West Bengal, providing protection and support for our Muslim sisters and their families. Many families have lost daughters as young as the age of 10, to sexual trafficking and other forms of misconduct. Donating even £1 will, inshaAllah, go a long way when given with sincerity, as a form of sadaqah jaariyah.
