It may have been over a month since the earthquake in Syria and Turkey, but for the people who live there, it will continue to affect them in the coming months, years, and unfortunately for some even their lifetimes.

Being so far away we tend to feel powerless when it comes to helping those affected and so this ramadhan I will be running Tough Mudder while fasting to help raise funds to support various causes.

Zahra Trust, who have had a team on the ground since the earthquakes are currently providing meals and food parcels, blankets, nappies, baby milk formula as well as hygiene kits and disposable sanitary items.

They are also holding informal mobile health clinics and equipping hospitals with vital medicines and medical supplies including medicine storage units.

It will be a temporary hardship for me whilst knowing that I will be able to go back to a warm house, but for the earthquake victims, it is an everyday hardship with the uncertainty of not knowing what the future holds for them.

Please give as much as you can no matter how small, as without you all it wouldn't be possible.

We are aiming to raise over £60,000 towards various of The Zahra Trust's projects, helping over 13,500 people in the process!

- 1 house for a struggling family in Yemen

- 5 water wells in Pakistan

- 45 students' education in Karbala, Iraq.

- 250 food parcels for struggling families

- 10,000 iftar meals for needy communities in Ramadan
