Details about the charity

Oru Paanai is a UK registered charity (no:1136376) which helps feed and support malnourished and hearing impaired children in the North/North east regions of Sri-lanka where I was born.   The children here are suffering from widespread poverty partly due to the recently ended 27year civil war, and the slow progress on any reconstruction efforts.

Currently 33000 children are being supported in 311 schools by this charity by being provided 1 meal a day at school, along with support for hearing impaired children, and remediation education initiatives. However, they need to double their efforts in funding to continue this support until the region recovers and poverty and starvation are no longer prevalent.
