Story

Anyone that knows me knows how much I idolised my Nan, anyone that met her knew she lit up a room with her wit and love and losing her mentally and then physically to dementia  was awful

Watching someone you love forget your name, memories & ability to love and laugh, there are no words, that is dementia  my Nannie would of loved Frankie & Jack, she got to experience Frankie but not in her sane mind, they would of had such fun together and it breaks me they will never feel her influence physically

She would tell me I’m ridiculous for running, I can hear her voice telling me not to be so stupid, but here I am Nannie, no offence but you aren’t here to tell me off you can watch me from wherever you are because I’m doing it for you 🖤

& so in the future generations my children will hopefully not have to experience the pain and grievance of loss Alzheimer’s can bring

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
