Story
I am taking on new challenge for Shelter, now that I have achieved my goal of running 500 parkruns in 500 days, running at least 5K every day for mental health including several 10K runs, half marathons, a 22 mile training run along the Preston Guild Wheel, and 3 full marathons (London, Manchester and Edinburgh virtual)
My employer Adecco has challenged me to do something "MIGHTY" in the next 100 days. So I have decided to take on this personal challenge in addition to climbing Mount Snowdon with my colleagues on 18th of September:
Swim the length of the English Channel, (22 miles) in my local pool from 22 of July until September.
Cycle 120 miles (the distance from Dundee to Fort William) as part of the UK Wide Cycle Ride Challenge by end of September.
Run 21 miles along the Preston Guild Wheel prior to running London Virtual Marathon.
I hope to celebrate achieving my goal by completing my very first Sprint Triathlon in October. All this, so I can raise awareness and funds desperately needed to help the homeless and those facing homelessness during these difficult times.
I am doing this in memory of my Mother, Verna Louise Moran to honour her, as she always provided shelter to those in need.
A home is a fundamental human need and a basic moral right, as vital as education or healthcare. But in Britain today, 3,500 people sleep on the streets on any given night and 113,000 households are stuck in temporary accommodation, such as homeless hostels. We're partnering with Shelter to help get people who have been affected by homelessness back into work.
Thank you very much for your support.
