3 Peaks Challenge · 9 June 2014

We are a small charity that provides the sickest children of Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham and their families a FREE short break away at a local Haven Caravan Park. We need £38,000 to make this dream come true and £10,000 each year after to continue to offer these breaks away.

Story

On June 9th-10th 2014 we shall undertake and complete the National Three Peaks challenge.

The Peaks challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the UK and travelling between them all within a 24 hour period.

The first leg takes you to the highest point in the UK, Ben Nevis in Scotland at the height of 1334m. The 24 hour countdown begins as we start our ascent. Next we drive approximately 300miles south to the Lake District where we will climb Scafell Pike at a height of 977m. Once at the bottom we then drive a further 250 miles into north-west Wales to climb Snowdon at a height of 1085m. Once we reach the bottom the clock stops!

As well as the ascent/descent of each mountain we have to travel horizontally meaning a total of approximately 26 miles. One Mountain is through the night. 500-600 miles of driving.

Our team consists of:

Neil Mellor

Carl Hudghton

Adam Bowie

Malcolm Richmond

Chris Dall

Karlos Osborne

Stewart Harris

We are raising money for Sams Haven, a local Portsmouth charity who are dedicated to providing short respite holidays for families who are living with children who have life threatening or terminal ilnesses.

Wish us luck and donate generously :-D
