Rams RFC - Movember 2020

Rams RFC - Movember 2020 · 31 October 2020
Rams Rugby Club are joining together to help raise money and awareness for the Movember charity this year. We would love to have as much support as possible for this cause!
Movember is the leading charity that is changing the face of men’s health. Movember started in 2003 and has funded more then 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging he status quo, and shaking up men’s health research. Unchecked, prostate cancer rates will double over the next 15 years. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15-39 years of age. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.
It is that time of year where the top lip is put to the use of what it was designed for... to grow a moustache! Members of the club will be showing their support by growing a tash for the month or ‘mo’ their own way with raising awareness and donations.
Alongside this, a group of players will also run for 82 minutes on Sunday 29th November. The figure 82 represents the number of males that were lost to suicide each week in 2019 within England and Wales. The money that will be raised will help fund projects on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer and to reduce these numbers in the future.
Thank you in advance for your donations and spreading the awareness for this great cause!
