Story
On November 21st 2022, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Cianjur town in West Java, Indonesia. More than 160 people were killed, hundreds were injured, thousands of homes damaged, and tens of thousands of people has been displaced.
Similar disaster has happened before, and while every single one is a tragedy, this one hits differently as the epicentre was not far away from my hometown, Bogor. It could have easily happened to my family.
Therefore, as I’m running my first marathon on November 26th (Endurance Life Dorset), I thought why not take this opportunity to arrange a last minute fundraising for the victims in Cianjur and surrounding area. I run just for the fun and the challenge, and a marathon will be a nice milestone. But I hope this one could be something more meaningful. I hope any amount collected can provide a small relief for our brothers and sisters in this very difficult time.
I’ve been in touch with Human Aid Initiative, and donation through this page will go to the victims in Cianjur. Please visit their website as well and support their other projects.
This page will open until the 4th of December 2022. There is no amount of donation that is too small. Thank you for visiting this page and hope your family and loved ones are keeping safe.
