Story

Hello and namaste beautiful people!

We are team ‘Momo Mojo’ (repping our fave Nepali delicacy) and we will be trekking 13 miles in London to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society on 5th June 2021. We will be starting and finishing at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, circulating hours around iconic landmarks of London - Trafalgar Square, Pall Mall and Big Ben.

Background: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks.

It is currently the leading cause of death amongst older people, just behind heart disease and cancer.

There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise over 1 million by 2025.

Purpose: Alzheimer’s gradually affects everything. Imagine having little to no recollection of the things that gave you so much joy in life? Whether it be playing piano, recognising the faces of your loved ones or simply being able to get up and walk.

We feel a sense of urgency to spread awareness and tackle challenges associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia amid covid-19 pandemic.

Let’s be part of a community that supports research to identify new treatment strategies, improve care for people with dementia and further our knowledge of brain health and disease prevention.

We will appreciate any contributions that’ll help us get closer to combat this irreversible disease.

Thank you 💛
