British 10K London Run 2014 · 13 July 2014 ·
As many of you already know, towards the end of last year I lost my grandfather. He was diagnosed with vascular dementia 2 years ago and the disease slowly deteriorated his brain to the point where he was unable to recognise the faces of some of his closest family members.
Since his passing I always said I would raise money in his honour and that is the purpose of this page.
I am running the British 10k event in central London on July the 13th in memory of my grandfather.
As many of you know I’m not in shape lol. That’s why it’s a big deal for me and a big challenge.
The charity I am donating to is Alzhemier’s Research UK.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. As research experts, they specialise in funding world-class, pioneering projects at leading universities to find preventions, treatments and a cure for dementia.
It is all for a good cause. I know it’s a personal charity for me because of my grandfather but this money can go towards helping people prevent and even cure the effects of dementia. In the future someone else’s grandparent or even parent could be saved with this research and would not have to go through the same hardship my granddad did and my family did when we lost him.
Please give what you can.
