Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

I am doing this 26 mile trek to support the amazing work of the Alzheimer's Society. I am also doing it in Memory of my father who in the latter part of his life suffered with Dementia.

'Who are you?' are words no child should hear from their  parent. These were words my Father said to me many times. The Man who raised you, cared for you and provided for you no longer knows who you are. Hopefully I can, in some small way, help to bring an end to this terrible disease.

The route is rated as challenging. While I am looking forward to it, I am apprehensive. 26 miles is some distance to cover.

My Father was born on the 25th June. It is fitting I will be doing this walk on what would have been his Birthday. I will be grateful for any donations you can give to support me in my Trek26.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
