St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people with a progressive illness. Our work centres around individual needs, with specialist support, wherever required, at home, in the community or at the hospice. Each year the hospice needs to generate £12.9m, of this 70% comes from the local community.

Story

Kirsty Mayers who works for RBF Cargocare was very honoured when we asked her if we could run the Felixstowe Coastal 10M in support of St. Elizabeth Hospice, in memory
of her Mum Sally, who she lost to cancer in November 2018.

Her Mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in July 2017 and was later referred to the Hospice after several sessions of chemotherapy which had little effect on shrinking the cancer.  She was being prepared for the inevitable but St. Elizabeth Hospice does so much more than palliative care. They help the patient and their families through the hardest journey you can
ever experience, from providing friendly, comfortable surroundings and hot meals in the day care facility to arranging essential equipment to allow patients to stay in the comfort of their own homes, organising bucket-list events and memories to look back on and bereavement counselling when the time comes to say goodbye.  None of which could be done without the amazing
staff and volunteers.

The Hospice is an independent charity providing these
services for free, but needs to raise £10.5M each year in order to keep
running, most of which is fundraised by the local community.  Please help
the Hospice to carry on the fantastic work they do, and bring comfort to other
families in need.
