Story
26th April would have been the London Marathon. An event I’ve completed several times and an event charities across the UK rely on for donations. In this unprecedented time many charities are really struggling to obtain enough donations to survive. At RBNWL we are continuing to provide our vulnerable students with education and therapeutic support through this difficult time, helping them to achieve their academic goals whilst simultaneously supporting them to overcome the legacy of their trauma and abuse. £500 would provide a student with a term of psychotherapy to help them understand their abuse or trauma and move forward from it.
I hadn’t planned to run the London Marathon this year and I certainly hadn’t trained for it. But on 26th April I will run 26 miles around our local park and show a small amount of the determination our students show in overcoming all their obstacles. Because our students don’t have time to prepare for their next difficulty. And neither should I!
