Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. RUST BUCKET RALLY 2022 is the sixth running of this unique event. A group of enthusiast driving £500 ‘Rust Bucket’ cars around Europe for 4 days covering 2500 miles. It’s not for the faint hearted! Having already raised over £180000 for 5 local charities and this year’s charities will be We Mind Kelly Matters and ProstAid We Mind & Kelly Matters was formed in 2019 after the devastating loss of our beautiful daughter, sister and friend Kelly Francesca Hewitt. Our initial aims were to raise much needed funds for mental health and bereavement charities such as MIND and SOBS, so that anyone affected by suicide would receive help and support. The support we have received from the very early days has been amazing. Kelly touched so many lives and will be in our hearts forever, so this charity is her legacy, we cannot let people suffer on their own After the huge success sine the launch of the charity, we were able to develop several initiatives and bespoke projects related to mental health and suicide prevention, beginning delivery of our own support services directly. This is how MASK – Mental health Awareness and Suicide prevention in Kelly’s memory our first initiative was created. Four pillars of connected education, training, support, and interventions offer hope to others, whether you are in support yourself, or want to help others who are feeling vulnerable. Together we can all make a difference. PROSTaid was started in 2006. We are a local, registered, independent prostate & prostate cancer charity, based in Wigston, Leicestershire. PROST aid covers Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire, we rely on donations and bequests to continue our work and receive no government funding. We are run by prostate cancer patients, families, friends and urological professionals. As a voluntary team comprised principally of prostate cancer sufferers, their families & friends and members of the University of Leicester Hospitals Urological team in the East Midlands Prostate Cancer Area we fund three local PROSTaid prostate cancer nurses in the East Midlands, two based in Leicester, and one we have just started funding a PROSTaid prostate cancer nurse at Northampton General Hospital .We fund more prostate cancer specialist nurses than anywhere else in the NHS !!. The cost to fund this new Northampton nurse to the charity over three years will be £68,000! We raise public awareness of the disease locally, offer vital support and befriending for patients with the disease by men who have prostate cancer.
