Story

As a team of Speech and Language Therapists we often recommend that patients with swallowing difficulties have a puree diet and/or thicken their drinks to help make swallowing easier.

To coincide with Nutrition and Hydration Week 2016 (14th-18th March), for one week we, the speech therapy team, are going to have a taste of our own medicine and eat a puree diet to raise money to buy a second iPad to use on our stroke unit. This will be used to provide information, therapy and rehabilitation for more of our patients with swallowing and communication difficulties.

There are lots of other events taking place throughout the hospital, and you will be able to find our Nutrition & Hydration Week stand by the main entrance at The Countess of Chester Hospital from the 14th March. Visit www.nutritionandhydrationweek.co.uk or follow @NHWeek on Twitter for more information.
