We send used bicycles to Africa to improve access to water, education, jobs

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We hope to raise 2 and a half grand so re~cycle can send another shipping container filled with donated second hand bicycles from the UK to Africa. This shipment will give about 400 people access to clean and affordable transport in some of the worlds poorest countries. These bikes are not only used to help people get to schools, jobs, markets and water supplies, they also help get aid workers to remote areas and get sick people medical help!

Our cycling challenge is a 6000+ kilometre journey which will take us through at least 20 nations and we will be negotiating many of the toughest mountain ranges Europe has to offer along the way. We intend to achieve this in less than 100 days with no support; the only means of over land transport we are using is the humble bicycle. Everything we need for survival we will be carrying ourselves!

We're on the road now so you can check out our blog to see how we're getting along.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

We collect used bicycles in the UK and we ship them, in containers, to people who need them in Africa. Some people living in rural African communities walk miles everyday to reach water, school, work or healthcare. Bikes are a sustainable mode of transport and help change lives for many families.
