Ectopic pregnancy affects 1% of natural pregnancies and 1.2% of IVF pregnancies. I am one of the 1.2% who have suffered from an ectopic pregnancy after a twin implantation back in November 2020. This was my 3rd round of IVF treatment. I was not fully aware of this life threatening condition, but with listening to my own body and doing extensive research I saved my ovary, fallopian tube and could have possibly saved my own life. I want to raise awareness of this life threatening condition to all women going through IVF treatment or simply trying naturally for a baby. Listen to your own body and do not give up discussing concerns with medical professionals if you believe something is wrong. Although I had positive pregnancy tests, I had to convince the medics to investigate further after repeatedly being told ectopic pregnancies can not happen with IVF pregnancies. 

After my physical recovery I resumed up my new lockdown hobby, running. Running has helped my physical recovery as well as my mental health. So I have decided to raise money for The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust by running 5K every day for  1 month starting 1/2/21 - 1/3/21

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust is a charity very close to my heart. When I had sleepless nights the forums helped me to relax and put my mind at ease when I was suffering with ectopic symptoms. I honestly don’t know how I would have coped without the help of their website and forums.
