A burn injury can be an extremely traumatic and devastating experience for the child as well as for family members, both physically and emotionally.  They may also require frequent hospital appointments and operations until they stop growing.

The effect of a burn injury, can cause psychological distresses, changes in lifestyle and on health and recovery.

We are raising money to be able to send patients to residential burn camps. Evaluations of residential burn camps found that children, parents and camp volunteers thought the camp experience was beneficial for children with burn injuries, as it allowed children to grow in their self confidence and gain support from their peers who have also received a burn injury. Children who also attend camp have significant improvement in their apperance months after. The success and positive experiences gained from taking part in activities at camp are also transformed into success in other areas of a child's life to include home and school.
