Story
My name is Rebecca and I am the very proud mummy to Dottie Eloise Adamson. At Ronald McDonald House Charities they provide free 'home away from home' accommodation at specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life. In December 2018 we received a room at the RMHC in Manchester when our baby Dottie was very sick In the childrens hospital. Sadly On the 15th of December 2018 our hearts broke into a million pieces as Dottie peacefully slipped away. There was lots of complications along the way in Dottie’s short life and this led us into an inquest. We waited over three years for the inquest date to finally arrive. This was torture for all of us as a family as we had this constantly hanging over us. I said when we finally have the inquest I want to take on a challenge that is massively out of my comfort zone and to raise money for this amazing charity. I see this challenge as my opportunity to get as close to my baby as I can in the sky and then jump out of that plane and let go of all the past traumas, anger and frustrations that grief naturally brings with it. I can then continue to build my life around my grief and pain, without letting it define me but Instead shape me into the person I am today and bring positivity to the world from what has been such a tragedy. Everything I do I will always do it with Dottie in my heart and as Dottie’s mummy I will continue to allow her memory to live on In me forever. To raise these funds will mean we are one step closer to reaching our target of £5000 for the RMHC and having a room specially named after Dottie. Thankyou to all of you for reading my story and for supporting such an amazing cause this really does mean the world to us as a family and all the family’s that will continue to be supported over the years by the RMHC. Your donations will make a massive difference.
Thankyou, Rebecca x
