Story
I just finished the 2023 NYC marathon and had so much fun. It was a lot of hard work but that day was so special and I wanted to do it again. I was inspired by all of the wheelchair runners and their partners. I decided I wanted to run London in April and raise money while doing it

One aspect of Whizz Kids that really spoke to me were the social activities where the kids learn to do sports with wheelchairs. Running the London Marathon for Whizz Kidz resonates with me as a mother of two, driven by my belief in the power of sports for children. I am passionate about supporting organizations that prioritize children's development, and Whizz Kidz's focus on instilling confidence through sports aligns perfectly with my values. I understand firsthand the positive impact that sports can have on a child's self-esteem, fostering not only physical well-being but also crucial life skills such as teamwork and resilience. By participating in the marathon for Whizz Kidz, I aim to contribute to their mission of empowering children, ensuring that more kids have the opportunity to build confidence and thrive. This endeavor is not just a personal challenge for me; it's a heartfelt commitment to championing the belief that every child deserves the chance to grow and flourish.
Over 75,000 young people in the UK need to use a wheelchair to be mobile. Unfortunately, they cannot access the equipment that meets their needs through local services. We're here for all of them. Whizz Kidz are the UK’s leading charity supporting young wheelchair users up to 25 years old. They empower young wheelchair users with the equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences they need to take an active role in society. The Whizz Kidz goal is to create a movement for progress towards a more open and accessible world.
