Balmoral 10km 2013 · 28 April 2013 ·
We've joined together to run the 2013 Balmoral 10k to raise money for a charity called The Arthrogryposis Group (TAG). Arthrogryposis literally means 'curved joints'. Rowan was born into our family with this rare condition in March 2010. At birth she had a dislocated hip, couldn't bend her knees and had very restricted movement in her hands. Four operations and numerous hospital visits later, she is progressing very well and has continued to amaze us all with her cheerful nature and unrelenting bravery.
Having a child born with a rare condition can be a challenging experience, but TAG is working hard to provide support for affected families when they need it most, whilst giving a much needed link to professionals and other families across the UK.
Rowan's mum and dad, Rebecca and Stuart, are to share the agonies of the Balmoral hill with Auntie Katherine and Uncle Sandy, their three children, Sally (9), Duncan (9) and Geordie (7) (who are tackling the 1.5k run), as well as Auntie George, Uncle Oliver and Uncle Jamie.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too.
So please dig deep and donate now.
