Story

After 6 days of monitoring in QMC maternity ward Jack Goutorbe was born at 29 weeks and 6 days premature at QMC Nottingham on the 2nd April 2012 weighing just 730 grams. He was the size of a 25 week old premature baby, but developed like a 30 week old premature baby.

Jack spent 6 weeks in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) in an incubator.

I sat at the incubator for the 6 weeks and stayed in the parents rooms at QMC, I am Jack's Mum Rebecca Goutorbe. Whilst I was sat at the incubator I thought to myself one day I would like to be able to buy one of these and give it to Nottingham NICU. The price of incubator in 2012 was about £26,000. Now in 2023 they are about double the price. I didn't realise either that you can't just buy a NICU an incubator and give it to them.

So 2023 my plan is raise £50,000 for Nottingham NICU and they can decide what medical equipment they need to buy with money raised.

It wasn't easy at all having a premature baby but 10 years on Jack is doing just great.
