Story
In January this year, I had the privilege and great pleasure to visit the hospitals and community projects provided by IMPACT Bangladesh. Seeing first hand their fantastic work that benefits disadvantaged people and communities has given me the the motivation and inspiration to raise more funds and to support their essential work.
It was a special highlight to stay a night aboard the Jibon Tari floating hospital, which for 24 years has provided surgery and health treatment to individuals and families in the most remote river communities in Bangladesh.
In Chuadanga, I visited the new community hospital where IMPACT Bangladesh has expanded their work to meet the demand for lower cost eye, gynae, orthopaedic, and cleft lip surgery, enabling people to overcome disabilities that affect their livelihoods and future.
The IMPACT Bangladesh Nursing Institute creates an opportunity for young women from rural communities to train and obtain their Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery and creates a career pathway for young women to support their wider families and promote their independence.
IMPACT Bangladesh also run innovative community projects in rural areas, where mothers and families are given health and maternity education and empowered to improve their lives and support each other in their communities. Home gardening is a way of meeting nutritional requirements of the rural poor and empowers women to have an income opportunity from the sale of their vegetables.
Please join me in my fundraising and be part of this life changing work!
