Becci JAmes - Hallam Students Lesotho Humanitarian Project 15-30 June 2019

Lesotho South Africa Trip · 17 October 2018
We are going to Lesotho and Clarens to carry out vital humanitarian work in local Villages. We will be buying wonderbags and giving them to women and children. Wonderbags are produced in Durban and are a slow cooker made out of thermal technology. They cook the food for the women for 7 hours enabling women to spend time with their children. These bags change lives and help prolong life of women as in Lesotho the average life expectancy age is 54 years.
We are also planting crops and vetch which helps keep all the nutrients in the soil when the rains come. Providing crops all year around.
Also collecting black school shoes, trainers and football boots to take.
Providing period poverty kits for women and girls which lasts 2 years so they can go to school all year round.
