Story

Our aim is to raise money for charity projects in memory of Orly.

Orly Babette Feddy was a beautiful, happy and loving little girl. She was always smiling and brought joy into the lives of everyone who knew her.

She was taken from us suddenly on Monday, 17th December 2012, aged just 18 months.

Her mummy, Rebecca; her daddy, Lee, her big sister Freya and little brother Immanuel miss her so very much. They, together with her grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, cousins, her friends at nursery and all who knew her, wanted to do something to keep Orly's special smile alive and raise money to keep other little children smiling in Orly's memory.

This year, along with The Big Birthday Appeal, will be supporting 2 charities and 2 very different projects.

Maggie's Manchester - A series of structured tailored sessions for children whose parents, siblings or loved ones are going through cancer treatment. Maggie's will enrol child psychologists, art therapists and other supportive means to offer support to the children at this terrible time.

The Friendship Circle - Disability Education in Schools - designing a programme for primary care children to think about disability, difference and inclusion. Introducing the children to members of the charity with disabilities themselves; they will be encouraged to engage and ask questions and interact. Negative perceptions and awkwardness to people with different and special needs is often due to the "unknown" and lack of exposure in these circumstances.

Both these projects are new initiatives and I feel extremely fortunate A Smile for Orly will be involved in making them a reality.
