Story

"I want to help the other deaf children like me" - Elliott Lock, age 6.

The Elizabeth Foundation has been a huge part of Elliott's life since he was diagnosed as deaf at 6 weeks old. He is now a loud, confident, chatty little boy thanks to the brilliant start in his hearing journey that The Elizabeth Foundation gave him. He is now thriving in his third year at a mainstream infant school.

Elliott is hoping to raise £400 to help other deaf babies and children, just like him.

“We thought that he would never be able to speak to us... Nor, more importantly, would he ever be able to hear us tell him we love him.” Parent of profoundly deaf little boy.The Elizabeth Foundation (TEF) helps deaf babies and pre school children learn to listen and speak. We are there to support and inform families from the moment their child is diagnosed with any degree of hearing loss. This year over 80 babies, toddlers and pre-school children will attend specialist education programmes and get individual speech and language therapy

About the charity

The Elizabeth Foundation is a Family Centre with baby, toddler and pre-school sessions for deaf children and their families. We follow the 'Multi Sensory Oral Approach', to develop speech, language and listening skills by using all of the child's senses in a natural, fun, child-centred environment.
