Rebecca's Trek of the Lagan

Trek ] the Lagan · 8 April 2021
Life can be hard going and this walk will be hard going for me! Tracking the route of the River Lagan from its source at Slieve Croob in the Dromara hills, around the Lagan Valley for 2 days I hope to follow it for just under 50 miles to where it enters the sea at Belfast Lough. This is to raise funds for Via Wings, a charity based in Dromore. As much as trekking for miles may be hard to simply put one foot in front of the other, life at times is so much harder. A charity like Via Wings is there to help many people to keep going in life through the hard times meeting their physical, mental and spiritual needs.
Any money raised will go directly to Via Wings so I would hope to raise the equivalent of £10 for every mile I walk, any donation is greatly appreciated to keep me trooping on... one step at a time!
Via Wings was born in 2009 to help those in need in the community of Dromore to help change lives by lifting people up on Wings like Eagles and, through our many projects, we work to help break the cycle of poverty.Poverty is so much more than the lack of money or food – Poverty is also loneliness, isolation, deprivation, brokenness, and so much more. We deal with all of that, and more, on a daily basis in our own community and also now further afield. Our aim is to show God’s love in a loving, caring, practical, non-judgemental way.
